Prosthetics can now sense touch
Posted on Nov 27, 07 06:54 PM PDT

Amputees could soon benefit from new prosthetic limbs which can sense touch, as nerves from injured arms have been redirected into the skin on their chest - helping them feel as they did before they lost their limbs. This new bionic prosthetic is effectively controlled by one's thoughts, and is a quantum leap for folks who have undergone amputation. Hopefully the bionic prosthetics will be able to be manufactured en masse, and be made available to whoever needs them at an extremely affordable price. Could we one day see a bionic hand like Will Smith's I, Robot character?
