Venturer launches SHD7000
Posted on Nov 29, 07 07:13 PM PDT

Venturer has just launched the SHD7000 HD DVD player that claims to be one of the cheapest HD DVD players around - it retails for just $199 without the catch of a closeout sale or promo campaign, and is capable of matching most features on Toshiba's HD-A2 and HD-A3. The Ventura SHD7000 has a maximum output of 1080i, support for Dolby TrueHD and DTS HD in 5.1-channel surround, outputs through HDMI, and uses Ethernet connections for updates or Internet-based special movie features. Wal-Mart is currently carrying the Venturer SHD7000 in the US, while readers across the pond will be able to pick it up from the QVC shopping channel when December 29 rolls around.
