YouTube to go HD

Posted on Nov 15, 07 09:21 AM PDT

YouTube to go HD YouTube aims to make the high definition leap within three months' time with its new player that is capable of detecting the speed of the viewer's Internet connection, and subsequently delivering video at the appropriate quality. This is in line with YouTube's goal "to make the site's vast library of content available to everyone and that requires a fairly low-bitrate stream." As expected, higher quality video will result in some delay to buffer the video stream, hence the need for plenty of testing. Sounds like great news, since you will now be able to enjoy the best quality video available depending on your connection speed.
