Brits shun GPS units

Many small communities in England are starting to shun GPS systems since those devices are responsible for an influx of large vehicles that aren't too friendly on roads which were originally designed for horses and carts. In addition, fences around the country are getting scraped against by car mirrors no thanks to the GPS device providing a so-called "shorter route" through towns which are too small for sidewalks. Villagers aren't taking all these lying down though - they have started to work with GPS manufacturers to install signs on roads, clearly stating that those roads aren't appropriate for trucks. I guess smart technology has resulted in dumbed down folks, since we seem pretty happy to let the machines do all the thinking (and work) for us these days.
