Fingerprint Safe
Posted on Dec 26, 07 12:05 PM PDT
It works like it’s supposed to: only a list of known fingerprints will open this safe, and it is deemed secure enough to store firearms, so it should be good enough for your hard disks, jewelry and other valuable assets as well. I don’t think that it is fire-resistant, if that’s important to you.
Note that some people say that a fingerprint is left on the fingerprint reader on, and that it could be used by theft. I don’t know if it is true, but if someone does, please leave a comment.

the fingerprint could be lifted from the safe, but it would take a lllllooooonnnnngggg time before you could take that fingerprint and then be able to make a duplicate that would pass off as the real thing to the fingerprint reader. i dont know, its possible, but the resources to crack a fingerprint safe are more than what you would use to crack an electronic combination safe(easiest), a key and combination safe(intermediate), and i would say a fingerprint reader would be the hardest.

No your fprint isnt left on the scanner... this is the same type that is on a laptop. Its not as large as a whole fprint you need to slide your finger down the scanner for it to get the fprint.
Can they still be "cheated" ... yes (everything can)
