The Home Theater Scaler Plus from Gefen shares a strong resemblance to a Mac Mini, but is actually a video scaler that is capable of touching 1080p from a wide range of input signals. It features support for one component source with analog audio, a single composite or S-video source with analog audio, a couple of HDMI sources, 4 digital audio, 2 co-axial and 2 optical. The Home Theater Scaler Plus will also be able to function as a switch to route input signals to one single set of output. Being HDCP-compliant, it works equally well with HD DVD, Blu-ray and other HD devices in addition to standard DVD. Other features include dual scaling engines, video adaptive de-interlacers, advanced color engine technology and less than one frame delay for non-stop, real-time action. The Gefen Home Theater Scaler Plus retails for $499.
