Sony SXRD VW40 dips below $3k mark

Sony's new Bravia SXRD VW40 will be the first LCoS-based 1080p full scale projector to retail for less than the magical $3,000 mark. It can be pre-ordered today for $2,999 and will be available from the end of next month onwards. Features include 15,000:1 Dynamic Contrast Ratio, 900 lumens, 200w UHP Lamp, 2 years warranty, 24.25lb and audible noise at 22db. Will this cheaper projector make you move for your wallet, or will you continue to adopt a wait-and-see attitude? In due time, the SXRD panel will probably replace Sony's LCD line of 1080p projectors.
