Toshiba M700 Portege

Toshiba has just released its new touchscreen display tablet PC known as the M700 Portege. It uses LEDs to light the monitor, ensuring that the 4,700mAh battery will be able to run for at least four hours before requiring a trip to the power outlet while improving screen readability no matter what the lighting condition is. The touchscreen is also smart enough to recognize input from fingers and styluses, ignoring accidental touches by prioritizing input from the stylus. It isn't too easy on your shoulders though, weighing 4.6 pounds with its 12.1" display. Inside the M700 lies an Intel Core 2 Duo T7500 2.2GHz processor, 1GB DDR2 RAM, a 160GB hard drive, WiFi connectivitiy, a 1.3 megapixel webcam and an Intel X3100 graphics chipset. The M700 retails for $1,699 and above, depending on the specifications you throw in.

I bought this Toshiba Regza 42″ LCD television and it has been nothing but problems. The sound is horrible and there is a 1.5″ vertical discoloration on the screen from top to bottom. Toshiba’s local repair shop in Minneapolis ( Alex audio video ) has had it for going on three weeks and has no idea if or when it can be repaired. I am told it can take up to four months. To add insult to injury, the people at Toshiba are belligerent and unsympathetic.
