Addonics Technologies unveiled the Zebra Blu-ray / HD DVD optical storage solution which enables your computer to play movies in both formats, making this yet another hybrid drive to arrive on the market albeit on the PC platform. In addition to handling all your next generation high definition movie needs, the Zebra also does standard DVDs and CDs in various file formats and burns DVD±R/RW and CDRW media, making this one truly impressive device. You will be able to choose from a high speed eSATA connection or a combination eSATA and USB 2.0 interface, depending on your needs. The Addonics Zebra measures 10.16" x 6.61" x 2.36" and weighs 3.72 lbs. It has been slapped with a $409 price tag for the model with eSATA interface, or $429 for the one sporting a combination eSATA and USB 2.0 interface. Definitely way cheaper than standalone high definition players, and with more and more computer users upgrading their monitors to 24" and beyond, this sounds like a pretty solid investment without having you take any sides.
