Alienware Area-51 m15x Available

The Area-51 m15x is a high-end laptop that packs a lot of punch, but in a form-factor that many would deem too bulky: 1.3 x 14.55 x 10.73” and 7 lbs. For that price, you will get the highest performing components and small details like an illuminated keyboard that is amazingly absent from high-end Vaio laptops! Below is the ($2999) high-end configuration that I would go for. what about you? (Configuration page)
- 15.4” 1920x1200 display
- 512MB GeForce 8800M GTX
- Intel Core 2 Duo T7700 2.4Ghz (adding $650 for an additional 400Mhz is not worth it)
- 4GB RAM (3GB would have been better, but I don’t see the option), you can also buy the RAM separately
- Intel Turbo Memory ($40 is expensive for a flash drive, but the integration is better than having an USB stick on the side)
- 200GB 7200RPM HDD
- 8X Dual Layer DVD Burner
- WiFi-N

I am planning to order one soon as my 5 year old Inspiron's monitor lost its back lighting. As for getting the 1920x1200, it is all about watching Blue-Rays disks on it. :-)

I wouldnt chose the 1920x1200 display. 1400x900 is sharp enough and you will have betther berformance in games. 1920x1200 is just for dual 8800m GTX. And I wont buy 2GB ram extra by alienware, because that cost about 100$, if you buy it separately...

does anybody know if the high-end CPU like the dell xps m1730 can be overclocked in bios? If it can be overclocked in bios, it probably worth the extra dough.
