AMD Lost 1.7B in the Best Quarter of 2007

It’s not everyday that a well-known company announces that it lost more money ($1.7B) in the quarter than it pulled in as revenues ($1.63B)… to be fair, AMD took a $1.675B writedown for the ATI fiasco acquisition. Interestingly, AMD shipped 400k quad-core CPUs and reported a 9% increase in its processor business.
The graphics side was not so bright, with only $259M in revenues. ATI used to report numbers twice as high a couple of years ago.
