Din-ink Concept
Jan 24, 08 06:04 PM PDT

Now this is a pretty interesting concept to chew over - the Din-ink. Designed by Italians (they seem to have made the art form their very own) Andrea Cingoli, Paulo Emilio Bellisario, Cristian Cellini and Francesca Fontana, this concept of theirs was a winner in designboom's macef 2008 competition, "dining in 2015." All these utensils are made from corn and potato, and they can biodegrade within 180 days - making it a very viable option for use in flights. All you need is a compatible pen to get it working, although I wouldn't eat anything as tough as steak with these.
