Dynamic Volume rolls out
Published on 01/ 3/2008

Audyssey Laboratories has rolled out its very own Dynamic Volume - a volume leveling technology that does away with the disruptive changes in volume levels whenever you sit down to (supposedly) enjoy a movie that is peppered with commercials which sound way louder than the movie itself whenever it comes on. If you're like me and find that commercials tend to be annoyingly loud, then Dynamic Volume is certainly a viable solution to consider, as it weeds out small stresses in life like this. Dynamic Volume uses advanced audio signal processing technology that operates in both time and frequency domains. According to the press release, "the spectral content in individual channels is continuously monitored in order to maintain constant volume for stereo and surround sound. Audyssey Dynamic EQ loudness compensation technology is also integrated to make sure the correct frequency response and surround impression is maintained, compensating for the human ear’s lower sensitivity to bass, treble and surround sounds as volume levels decrease." You will be able to find the use of Dynamic Volume in consumer products released from this year onwards.
