EcoButton to Save the Planet by Shutting Down your PC

This Eco Button connects via USB and basically puts your PC into sleep mode, saving precious Watts. It will also wake the PC up, when it’s time to work again. The interesting thing is that the bundled software will record the carbon units saved. At ubergizmo, we think that “if we can measure it, we will improve it” (if we care).

There’s no question that “Green” has become a marketing gimmick, even if there’s a real need to be greener. I wonder how many carbon units it takes to build the button and how polluting it will be once in the trash. wouldn’t you prefer a better designed one? $18 at eco button
