Genius Traveler 350

Genius Traveler 350

I wonder how many people still use trackballs these days when it comes to computing - other than the industrial environment where the use of a mouse wastes space, there is very little need for a trackball in the home or at the office. Still, that hasn't stopped Genius from releasing the Traveler 350 that was ergonomically designed to suit righties and southpaws like yours truly. Features include a couple of integrated hotkeys, Flip 3D, and a MCE button that brings up with Windows Media Center console for your entertainment pleasure. I suppose folks who pick this up aren't too comfortable with using their notebook's touchpad, so kindly enlighten me on what other practical use there is for this 231mm x 133mm x 67mm portable notebook trackball.

'Hi Jeff, I would think using an ergonomic mouse for a start would be much more convenient than rolling about with a trackball'

I find my enormous Kensington Expert mouse trackball to be much more ergonomic than any mouse I have ever used...ergonomic or not.

Hi Jeff, I would think using an ergonomic mouse for a start would be much more convenient than rolling about with a trackball...unless one is a casual PC user that'd be fine, but I think most home PC users would prefer an ergonomic mouse to a trackball any day. Different strokes for different folks I guess :)

"there is very little need for a trackball in the home or at the office."

Now that's an absurd statement! Trackballs are often used by those with repetitive stress pain from using a standard mouse. If you've got pain in your shoulder or arm, switching to a trackball even for a few weeks can make a big difference.
