HP iPAQ Navigate

[CES 2008] Don’t you find it annoying when you plan a trip on your computer, then when you get into the car, you have to re-enter the address again? It’s even worse it you have decided to take a particular route, that’s not the one chosen by your GPS. The service works only with the iPAQ family of GPS.

HP noticed too and it has created iPAQ navigate, a web service that lets you plan your trip, then upload it to your GPS via USB. The site also has a small social component – it lets you share your trips with friends and family.

At the moment, the weak point lies in the wired USB connection, as most people leave their GPS in the car. But still, the idea is good and in the future, one could imagine that WiFi, Wireless USB or even a cellular connection (a la Dash Express) will make the experience seamless.
