HP MediaSmart Receiver in The Flesh
Posted on Jan 2, 08 11:04 PM PDT

You like the fact that a MediaSmart TV can stream all sorts of content and act as a Windows Media Center Extender? May be, but what if you just bough a “dumb” TV recently? HP has the solution: the MediaSmart Receiver is a set-top box that contains all the MediaSmart TV functions, turning your “normal” TV into a MediaSmart TV.
The receiver has connects using wired Ethernet or WiFi b/g/n. It communicates with other devices with uPnP (universal plug&play) and DLNA. It is also DivX certified, and will let you replay your pirated movie collection in your living room.
