Intel Shelton 08 for Ultra-Mobile PCs to Launch in Q3
Posted on Jan 14, 08 09:28 AM PDT

The Shelton 08 ultra-low cost, low-power platform should be launched in the third quarter of this year, according to news reports coming from Taiwan. Originally aimed at the developing countries market, Shelton 08 is so cheap to produce that it is expected to power system that would cost between $100 and $300.
The interesting bit for us is that this will lead to more small and cheap laptops like the Asus Eee (or the less sexy classmate).
