iPhone SIM Unlock Card?

iPhone SIM Unlock Card?

Spotted on swongled.com, this card is thought by some to be an SIM-unlock hardware solution that coots $30. We’re skeptical at best, because this looks like a hoax, but we thought that it might be a good topic for a quick talk at the coffee machine. First, is it possible to do a SIM that would crack the phone’s SIM lock? I don’t think so - what do you think?

Update: This doesn't "unlock" your phone, but it fools it to believe that any SIM card that you pop-in is an AT&T card, which gets the job done in most cases

[Thanks Nick B]

noob question. with the turbosim installed, are we now able to upgrade our iPhone w/o bricking it or does this only work for ver 1.1.2?

The Next SIM worked for a couple of weeks however now the phone is reporting that the sim is not valid. Cannot get Anysim to work with 1.1.2

hi,
we also sell this and can confirm that it is working. However it is slowing down the iphone in some operations (all regarding communication with sim card). This will not unlock your phone but will trick it to think you use the correct sim card...

Already done....So many have the iphone and have unblocked the phone to use it with T mobile.

I am just waiting for them to crack it for Sprint.

So, that lets you use any SIM card with your AT&T phone. Cool. Not really a phone unlock, but it gets the job done.

This is real, there are three or four (at least) companies that make something like this, you put it in the sim slot along with your sim (its very thin), it intercepts the data and passes it onto the phone, fooling it into thinking your sim card is from AT&T.
