Kodak Easyshare V1073 & V1273

[CES 2008] Kodak paraded a couple of its pre-production units of the latest Easyshare cameras - the V1073 and V1273. The images you see here and in the photo gallery are that of the former, which comes with 10 megapixels while the V1273 has 12 megapixels. I like the black rubbery finish that doesn't leave any pesky fingerprints behind, and hopefully the final commercial version won't see a change in color and material. The picture tagging function comes in handy, where you can insert tags such as "Favorite", "Birthday", "Holiday", "Wedding" and others. I'm not sure whether the software has any limit on the number of tags though. More features and details on the Easyshare are available after the jump.
Since it is a pre-production model, the software and interface was rather buggy. You scroll through images by flicking on the screen either way (left or right), with an experience somewhat like the iPhone although there was an awful lot of lag. Thumbnails are limited to just two rows on the 3" LCD display, so imagine going through thousands of images to find the image that you want - it is gonna take a whole lot of flicks to get that done. Hopefully the final version will see a much cleaner and more efficient user interface. The Kodak Easyshare V1273 has been quoted at $279. Some of the features found on both cameras include :-
- 3x Schneider Kreuznack Variogon lens
- 3x optical zoom
- 3" touchscreen LCD display
- Optical Image Stabilization
- Picture Tagging
- HD Video Recording (720p)
