Microvision SHOW Pico Projector
Posted on Jan 2, 08 09:53 AM PDT

[CES 2008] When your company is called Microvision, you’d better have really small projectors and that’s obviously the case. Microvision has SHOW, a tiny projector that is capable of projecting an 848x480 pixels image as big as 100” in diagonal – not bad for such a small gizmo. I believe that competitors have much smaller display resolutions. According to Microvision, the battery lasts for 2.5 hours.
They say that it connects to mobile devices, but the press release doesn’t really explain how: “SHOW connects directly to laptops, mobile phones, portable media players (PMPs), digital cameras and other mobile devices to project large, high-resolution images and video onto any surface.”

"They should make these devices bigger"?
Wow, don't really understand that.
These will be in cell phones by next year, like camera phones are now, they clearly need to go smaller, and then embedded in every concievalbe device with a small screen (picop). Don't know how we will deal with all the light pollution, but i think everyone will be projecting from there personal devices, laptops, etc. and soon.
and not from a device that is larger than the SHOW, but one that you don't even see (embedded).

These devices are the future gadget for mobile workers. Everyone who walked around with 15 kg bag with notebook, powersupplies, cables, projector, paper, etc. will be happy if such small gadgets replace the bulk and heavy projector - they make you more flecible as well. They should make these devices a bit bigger, give it more lux and a better resolution to work with standard laptop resolutions and they will have a lot of waiting customers.
