PeanutBot Looks For Sound

Published on 01/22/2008

The PeanutBot listens to sound to find its way around, pretty much using a sonar-based system to triangulate the origin of the sound and move towards the source without any external help from a remote controller. Created by a team of programmers at Cornell University, the PeanutBot doesn't really cost that much despite sounding otherwise - just $361 to cobble one together, where the bulk of that dough ($325) goes to the BrainStem PPRK autonomous robot kit. I guess this robot could do with a much-needed aesthetics overhaul though, and don't mind forking out extra money for that. Check out the video of the PeanutBot in action.
