Pollen Robots To Monitor Situation
Jan 29, 08 09:34 AM PDT

Tokyo-based weather forecasting company Weathernews, Inc. is currently working on a Pollen Robot that comes in the form factor of a ball, housing complex electronics within to monitor the pollen situation in the upcoming hay fever season. Each of these Pollen Robots weigh 1 kg and has a diameter of 30cm, complete with a pair of eyes that glow according to the level of Japanese cedar and cypress pollen in the air (white, blue, green, red and purple). Pollen Robots are capable of sending minute-by-minute reports to the Weathernews HQ over the Internet, where collected data will be analyzed to form the online pollen map. Interesting.
