Reading Eye Dog

The Reading Eye Dog, also known as RED, has the grey matter to read out loud whatever you show him, while displaying those words on a screen located on his tummy. Sounds great for the visually impaired who want to read books that have not been given the Braille treatment just yet. RED is still a concept at this point in time, but it will be a red letter day when his team of researchers manage to come up with a commercially viable version in the (hopefully) near future.

Umm...there has been efficient software to do this for many years. And btw, most blind people don't read Braille.
