Samsung Blackjack WM6 Update – It works
Posted on Jan 23, 08 06:02 PM PDT

I just finished updating my Samsung Blackjack (read review) to Windows Mobile 6 (WM6) and it works just fine. The update instructions are very clear, if you read them. If you have questions, drop them in the comments and I’ll try to reply ASAP.
Now, I need to setup my Exchange Server information. In theory, you can backup all your settings, and restore them after the update. I wonder this phone will have a Windows Mobile 7 update… take a look at WM7 at MobilityToday.
Update 1/29: There is definitely an issue with sending Multimedia Messages. I get an "Error. Unable to connect..." message. Looking at the settings, everything seems properly configured. This is how it is configured for the Blackjack II. I'll try to dig more into it.

Same issue here, the phone didn't install and I can't put the phone in a modem connection while in "flight mode". Anyone know ways around this?

the upgrade process failed and now I have a brick. Phase 2 completes (which installs WM6) but phase 3 (which installs the 'phone') fails.
Sadly without the phone components I can no longer set the phone to modem mode as per the directions so Phase 3 will never work. Thoughts?

After I updated my wm5 Cingular 8125 to WM6, I also had to upgrade Active Sync

Mark, I'm having the same issue. Thanks for bringing this up. I've updated the post and added a link, but so far, it doesn't work and I didn't find why. Everything looks properly configured.

Completed WM6 update. Seems now I can't Text or Multimedia Message. Any suggestions?

Weird thing I'm seeing is XP won't recognize the device after the update. Keeps searching for a driver for "MITS USB RNDIS"
