Samsung cooks up keypad patent
Posted on Jan 3, 08 12:06 PM PDT

Samsung is currently working on a new keypad patent that allows users to interchange their keypad between QWERTY and the standard alphanumeric, depending on their preference. The keypads themselves will be engraved on the battery panel, so each time you swap the keypad style, the batteries are changed as well. What do you think of this idea? Are you more of a QWERTY person or will defend the alphanumeric keypad to the death? This compromise by Samsung will definitely bridge the differences for folks who can't decide on either.

I have a Samsung Blackjack which I like very much. I have both speed dialing and voice dialing activated. The only problem that I have is that I have to physically press the speed dial number(s) or the voice dial number on the Blackjack. The keys on the Blackjack are very small and it is hard sometimes to see them especially at night. I was wondering if anyone knew of an external keypad that would connect to the Blackjack through the charging port on the Blackjack which would let you dial the Blackjack? I have several Bluetooth products that are great for receiving calls but will not let me place a call. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.
