Sharp AQUOS Slims Down

While the race in size is slowly petering out by itself where flat panel TVs are concerned, manufacturers are now trying to outdo one another in terms of thickness. Sharp claims to take top spot with its new AQUOS X series of LCD TVs, measuring a mere 1.35" at the thinnest section. Unfortunately for Sharp, their prototype paraded at IFA last year was thinner, but at least this newly introduced line is now in production. Guess the Japanese need these thinner TVs more than we do, since they do have to maximize their living space after all.
