Sony 's DCR-HC62 mini DV Handycam is a family camcorder that comes with a 25x optical Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar zoom lens and a 1-megapixel CCD imager for excellent video in addition to 1-megapixel digital still photos. Framing and footage viewing is a snap thanks to its 2.7" widescreen (16:9 ratio) LCD touchscreen display. Data is transferred over to a PC via USB, while a Memory Stick PRO Duo is the recording format of choice. It also comes with an on-screen usage guide that helps newbies navigate through menu functions easily, Super SteadyShot image stabilization and color viewfinders. You can place a pre-order today, although shipping will commence only in February. The Sony DCR-HC52 mini DV Handycam is accompanied by a $300 price tag.
