Symantec Family Safety to Protect Children from Internet Risks

[DEMO 08] Symantec tries to help parents keep an eye on their kid’s internet activities without having to become computer security experts. Family Safety works on what parents (and kids) are familiar with: rules.

For example, it has usage policies, and the example given by Symantec is "Block my child from playing more than 5 hours/week of World of Warcraft" – I’m sure that many employers would like to apply that one too.

The second aspect is Instant Messaging (IM) and social networks supervision by monitoring discussions with inappropriate. It also provides reports on accounts creation and IM buddies age. Symantec insists that this would allow parents and children to discuss and agree on a set of rules that would reflect the “family values”. As a parent, what do you think?
