TDVision goes HD

[CES 2008] TDVision Systems Inc. released its stereoscopic 3D technology a couple of years' back, allowing gamers to wear a special pair of glasses that allows one to view the game in 3D. Well, that was two years ago, and big strides can be made in that period of time. TDVision has hopped onto the High Definition bandwagon with its latest iteration of the stereoscopic 3D technology. You get a 108" virtual screen at 10 feet that displays 720p resolution - while that is not full HD, it is still good enough for consoles like the Xbox 360 and PS3. It doesn't work automatically with any game you throw at it though, as it will first have to be compatible with the TDVSDK. I tried the TDVisor-HD for around 5 minutes, and I am happy to report that there was no negative physical after-effects unlike the 3D TV I saw at CES last year. Should the TDVisor-HD hit the market right now, it will cost something like $1,000, but a TDVision executive mentioned that they are working hard to bring the price down to $399. Still too high for a 3D experience if you ask me.
