Macworld 2008 saw the debut of the USB 2.0 Universal Drive Adapter from Newer Technology. This device relies on the common USB port that enables it to just about connect to any and every hard drive as well as optical drives to a computer without kicking up a fuss. Compatible with Windows, Mac and Linux systems, the USB 2.0 Universal Drive Adapter retails for $29.95 each. If you're constantly transferring data from one type of system to another, this device sounds like a good idea but it will be largely underutilized if otherwise.
