Apple Not Keen On Gaming System

Looks like the iGame will have to wait - at least for the forseeable future. Word on the street has it that Apple won't be developing a game system anytime soon, as Apple will maintain the iPod's position as the "gateway" for all Apple gaming initiatives. Apple thinks that the iPod is good enough for games thanks to its OpenGL Embedded Systems software library, so they won't need a faster device. I beg to differ, as there are only so many (few) genres of simple games that people will play on an iPod, and the lack of epic titles will definitely be a sore point for many a hardcore gamer. The DS fills this niche particularly well with its fair share of casual, short-and-sweet games as well as long, drawn out but absorbing entertainment software. If you own an Apple iPod, how often do you play games on it?
