BlackBerry Users Get Updates

BlackBerry smartphone users will be smiling even more in the future as RIM and its partners have unveiled a pair of key updates, where "push" e-mail service for the home is one of them. Dubbed the "Unite Server", this feature will use an always-on computer at home as a base for RIM's signature e-mail service. This service will help improve mail accessibility for personal users while doubling up as a drop-off point for important e-mail. In addition, Alcatel-Lucent did mention that they, together with RIM have developed a solution which enables BlackBerry owners to use prepaid service while having access to BlackBerry mail. There is no word on when this prepaid service will be available as the feature is largely dependent on individual carriers.
