Cassiopeia IT-600

Casio has rolled out its Cassiopeia IT-600 device that is powered by Windows CE 5.0, and is marketed for ID barcode scanning applications. You can even opt to throw in a digital camera that functions even in low light conditions at a price. By all means the Cassiopeia IT-600 is one tough cookied, capable of shaking off 4-foot drops onto a concrete floor while meeting protection level 5 for resistance to dust and protection level 4 for water-splash resistance. There is no word on pricing or availability as at press time. Features of the IT-600 include :-

  • Processor: Marvell PXA270 520MHz
  • Memory: 64MB RAM, 128MB flash
  • Display: 3.7" VGA touchscreen display
  • Keyboard: 21-key, with three scanning triggers
  • Camera: one megapixel, with low-light capability
  • Bar code scanner: Scans from 2.4" to 12"
  • Wireless interfaces: Bluetooth 1.2, IrDA, 802.11b WLAN (optional)
  • Expansion: MiniSD memory card slot
