FCC Approves Motorola M990 Smart Rider

Motorola has sprung a surprise on everyone with its M990 Smart Rider device, touted to be a GSM high tier fixed mobile car phone. It is supposed to offer high speed data services in addition to voice, entertainment, information, advanced network connection, BT connections, and GPS navigation services among others. Heck, it will even come with a quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE g24 module, a rather impressive color display, GPS and Bluetooth connectivity. I'm not sure whether the folks at Motorola have lost it, but to carry a fixed mobile car phone? That sounds pretty much redundant IMHO.
