LG And Omnifone Team Up
Posted on Feb 12, 08 06:23 PM PDT

LG lays claim to being the first cell phone manufacturer that will roll out a handset pre-authorized for unlimited music in a partnership with Omnifone, relying on the latter's MusicStation Max program. This enables LG owners to download, play and share music immediately after subscribing without worrying about paying additional costs per track. The only catch would be having to fork out a monthly fee for Omnifone's MusicStation-oriented cellular plan that will run anywhere from a year to 18 months. You can only change your handset at the end of this timeframe, and must be hooked up to a MusicStation device if one wants to continue to benefit from the service. This service will run on a 3G/HSDPA network, so take your bets on who will be the most likely candidate.
