Sony MDR-EX55 Earbud Headphones
Posted on Feb 26, 08 12:04 AM PDT

The pair of MDR-EX55 earbud headphones will be making their way towards retail stores this March for approximately $40, and will be available in pink, blue, white and black colors. Each pair comes with 9mm EX drive units for a comfortable fit and deep bass sound. The use of silicon housing also makes the entire listening experience more comfy, and thankfully there are three earbuds sizes to choose from (S, M, and L) just in case your aural cavity is enormous or way too small compared to the average Joe.

I am currently waiting for my replacement headphones from Sony. Within 60 days of buying these headphones, one of the earbuds stopped working properly and there was a significant reduction in volume and quality. No wonder Sony only offers a 90 day warranty. I alson went online to check reviews and saw that a large number of people had the same problem. I would not recommend these headphones to anyone. You might as well spend the extra money and buy a set of Shure's. At least you'll have a two year warranty so you know you won't have to keep buying replacement headphones.

Just bought a pair at Radio Shack for $30, and although they don't sound as great as the Bang and Olufsens they're replacing, I'm still impressed. Very comfortable and snug in my ears. Clear crisp sound although it distorts a bit at high volume. Overall they're pretty great and I recommend them.
