Louvered shutters could be on their way out, but Damian Savio might just change your mind with this final-year show at the University of Western Sydney. This 23-year old's idea of using OLEDs and advance transparent Photovoltaic Nanoscale technology has resulted in the Lightway shutters which enable sunlight to flood in during the day, storing up a stash of energy in solar cells so that these lights are powered at night without raising havoc on your electricity bill at the end of the month. Sounds like perfect party fodder to me.
