Rumor: iPhone and iPod Touch Price Cuts?

The word on the street is that Apple will cut the price of both devices by as much as $100 just when it holds an Apple Special Event (also a rumor) at the end of February.

Apple would also drop the 8GB iPod Touch and retail only 16GB and 32GB versions. Obviously this is just a rumor for now, but the logic behind it is that many believe that Apple need to make room for the upcoming 3G iPhone that would arrive in May or June.
