SanDisk Announces 16GB iNAND Flash Drive
Posted on Feb 11, 08 09:25 AM PDT

Guess cell phones are going to come with an increasing amount of memory in the future, thanks to SanDisk's 16GB iNAND embedded flash drive offering that will usurp the 8GB model from its top dog position. The 16GB number is made possible courtesy of advances in multi-level cell NAND flash technology. It boasts plug and play integration with cell phones thanks to its adherence to JEDEC package and ball-out requirements. Expect handsets rolling out in Q2 onwards to come with the 16GB iNAND, and I must say I definitely look forward to the 32GB version which is tipped to be introduced in the second half of this year. Could the iPod face its greatest challenge yet? What you see on the right is the 8GB version. [Press Release]
