uBox Intelligent Pill Dispenser

Let’s have a show of hands here – how many of you out there do not take your medication on time? This phenomenon, also known as ‘medication non-adherence’, apparently costs the US healthcare system $100 billion annually and $60 billion to the pharmaceutical industry. The uBox intelligent pill dispenser could change all that, reminding a patient at the correct time to take medication while keeping track of a patient’s medication consuming habits so that double-dosing can be avoided. I certainly hope that improved versions of the uBox will be able to communicate with a cell phone directly via Bluetooth, alerting the patient on the handset as well as a form of insurance just in case its flashing lights and buzzer fail to attract the uBox’s patient’s attention.
