Blu-ray Prices Soaring

Talk about stabbing consumers in the back - even though the dust has finally settled from the "format war", you don't see the prices of Blu-ray players dropping. No sir, this seeming monopoly by Sony has translated into dollar signs for them as they take advantage of us poor consumers by charging just about any amount they want. In fact, without HD DVD around to act as a check and balance factor, Blu-ray drives are more expensive than they were all year, with $400 being the average price compared to $300 with HD DVD's presence. What's more, Sony has plans to to release disks with advanced issues toward year's end - these are practically useless with older units that cannot take advantage of such features. Is there no Phoenix Down for HD DVD?
