Segatoys, the Japanese toy company, who describes itself as “an entertainment innovator unconstrained by the conventional wisdom of the toy industry”, has released the HomeStar Pure a new version of the HomeStar Home Planetarium that costs half the price. Unlike the previous edition, this portable egg-shaped planetarium is powered by 4 AA batteries. It projects 10 000 stars on the ceiling and can be rotated manually to change the sky position. I would love to be able to plug this gadget to the WorldWide Telescope Website that Microsoft will be launching in the Spring!
