New Eee PC Gets Release Date
Posted on Mar 10, 08 09:57 AM PDT

The new Eee PC 900 series has just received the US release date which has been scheduled for this April, with prices starting from $500 upwards, depending on the configuration. Those living in Europe will lose out as they will cost 400 Euros, which is equal to roughly $600 after conversion. This new and improved version will see an 8GB SSD running on the Windows XP platform, while those who still prefer to stick with the Xandros Linux platform can settle for an 8GB or 12GB SSD. Intel's Atom processor will handle all the workload instead of the current VIA chip. Does this mean we will see a price drop for the current Eee PC models, or will they by phased out instead?
