Nike, Apple Head For Gyms

Nike and Apple have upped the ante by introducing the Nike + iPod experience in gyms worldwide this coming summer - both companies are currently co-operating with major gym equipment manufacturers like Life Fitness, Precor, Star Trac, and Technogym in order to introduce Nike + iPod compatibility with their cardio exercise equipment. This means users can hook up their iPods directly to the equipment at the start of the workout in order to record their progress. Users can log and track their data on nikeplus.com in a similar manner as if using the Sport Kit, save that this time it uses the equipment's built-in measurement systems instead of the wireless components found in the Kit.
