Xantrex Gateway is a device that was developed specially to gather performance data on rooftop solar electric panels, transmitting information gathered to a computer via WiFi. Devices such as this can be commonly found in large-scale installations at corporations or power plants, but the Xantrex Gateway has narrowed down its market to people's homes and small-scale solar power installations instead.
