Acer Goes Blu-ray
Apr 7, 08 09:28 AM PDT

Acer has a couple of notebooks that will come with Blu-ray drives, and they are the Aspire 8920G and 6920G. Both will be powered by the latest Intel Core 2 Duo processors, relying on Intel's PM965 Express chipset and an integrated module for WiFi connectivity which supports Acer's SignalUp with InviLink Nplify wireless technologies. The former has an 18.4" HD CineCrystal LCD display, while the latter is slightly smaller at 16". Judging by the screen sizes alone, they ought to be rather hefty in terms of weight and bulk, but that's the sacrifice you pay in order to watch high definition content on the go. NVIDIA's GeForce 9650M GS and GeForce 9500M GS are two options to choose from as its video card.
