Averatec Voya Series Are Tough

Averatec's Voya Series of notebooks don't take things lying down, as both the Voya 4473 (14.1? display) and the Voya 6494 (15.4? widescreen display) will share a magnesium alloy outer case, corner bumpers, and an anti-shock mounted hard drive to go up against everyday knocks and bumps. Prices start from $1,299 upwards, depending on the configuration. You will also get the following specifications with each purchase :-

  • Semi-Rugged 15.4? WXGA widescreen notebook supporting 1280×800 resolution
  • Drop and vibration resistant internal components
  • Spill resistant keyboard and touchpad
  • Intel Core 2 Duo Processor
  • Windows Vista Home Premium
  • 2GB DDR2 RAM
  • 250GB SATA HDD
  • 802.11a/b/g WLAN
  • Intel X3100 Graphic Media Accelerator
  • Built-in SuperMulti dual layer DVD Burner
  • 4-in-1 Media Card Reader
  • PCI Express Card Slot
I must say it is priced rather decently, giving butterfingers some breathing space whenever their clumsiness strikes when carrying a notebook.
