Blinkx BBTV, Broadband TV with Speech Based Navigation

Blinkx, the video search engine is launching today its Internet TV, Blinkx BBTV. Leveraging its speech and visual recognition technology, the company touts to offer a better user experience and interactivity in comparison to regular web TV services. The speech based navigation allows users to search through video content using spoken words. According to Blinkx, its hybrid peer-to-peer streaming technology delivers a high quality video content smoothly in full screen. Blinkx BBTV network is encrypted and protected by Microsoft DRM.
Other features include: users can shift-click the videos on a word in the speech track to get info on a person, location or object; the BBTV content is linked to the internet (Google, Wikipedia, IMDB etc…).
