Blockbuster Working on a Movie Set-Top Box

Blockbuster is apparently working on a set-top box to compete with vudu or Apple TV in the on-demand movie space. Just like the competition, the box will stream flicks from the web and how good the service will be remains to be seen.
At the moment, we think that vudu has the best quality and that Apple TV has the most hype (read our vudu review). From a branding perspective, I can’t think of any “blockbuster” box that is appealing, so I predict that this is going to be difficult for blockbuster (if not back-breaking).
While vudu still has a slight technical edge, video-on-demand is a commodity and it all comes down to branding and movie portfolio size, at this point.
